About the Club

In the summer of 1998,  Phillip Lefevre and John Lovell offered a  U3A course in which all facets of video production were to be explored.

From that beginning, the Milton Ulladulla Video Club Inc., began and in the last seven  years has run a series of Workshops on various aspects of Video making.

Several Workshops were run by Martha Mollison, an experienced film editor and media lecturer.

Members work on their own individual projects, and also get together for field trips, such as a short shoot around the Narrawallee Beach and Lake area.

Group projects have included producing videos of Milton Day Care Centre's Christmas party, the Australia Day Landing at Mollymook,  the Endeavour's visit to Ulladulla, the Historic Air Show at Nowra and the Olympic Torch  Run.

For some years previously, the Club had video'd the annual musical variety show, The Entertainers, recording it on VHS tape, with copies being sold to raise funds for club use. This Show runs over four nights each year at the Mollymook Golf Club with all the proceeds going to local charities. For a short period the Club's services were not required when a professional team took over the task, but in 2006, the Club was asked to do it again. Four cameras were used and the whole edited to produce two DVDs which were well received by cast members and our group has been invited to repeat the exercise in 2007(see Latest News).

Of more recent times, a club outing on Tekin lll, a whale and dolphin watching boat on Jervis Bay, resulted in a promotional DVD being produced for that firm which among other uses, is now continuously displayed in their office at Huskisson (see Latest News).

Video Festivals

Another Club project has been a video festival, initially called MUDFEST and first held in 2005.  This was a short video film competition open to all video makers - although largely supported by those from the south coast region - with the entries being screened at the Ulladulla Cinema in August 2005.

This year, Mudfest underwent a name change, becoming the SOUTH COAST VIDEO FESTIVAL, and was held in conjunction with Escape ArtFest 2006.  It attracted twenty three entries and was considered by all concerned to be a resounding success.
